album artwork thread got me to thinking; i have several music series that i am very much in love with. highly recommend.
#1 with a bullet, late night tales!
up to maybe 50 or so collections now; each curated by a band you probably know; Air, Belle & Sebastian, Groove Armada...etc etc
all curated by these bands and often with a special track they created just for the album. downtempo 'late night' music and always playing at our house. the entire collection is on 'randomize'.
Trivia: Khrungbin got their start on this boutique label
Trivia 2: My wife, God love her..somehow got in touch w/ the label many many years back and somehow was able to purchase ****THE CAT**** from the album above. Hand-painted one-of-a-kind and it ended up costing about $500 when all was said and done w/ the exchange rate, etc. but its among my most prized possessions.

so yes, this collection is amazing and very cool to listen to what inspired these artists.

#2 is THE TRIP
Only about 7 "double albums" released, but absolutely amazing; DJ mixes of the tracks that seamlessly blend into one another..you can't play this on random because all the songs transition into each other
not sure if its on spotify or apple music, but you owe it to yourself to go through all of the albums.
Here's a sample of one of the albums tracklisting (that's only disc 1)

I have a couple. Athens GA Inside/out helped me find some great new artists just as I was getting into REM.
The Sire records Just say... series which was released in the late 80s and early 90s. Awesome collection of music from some little known artists combined with some rarities from more well known artists.
example:
Depeche Mode - Never Let Me Down Again [Split Mix]
Echo & the Bunnymen - Lips Like Sugar [12" Mix]
The Mighty Lemon Drops - Out of Hand [Extended Version]
James - Ya-Ho
The Smiths - Work Is a Four-Letter Word
Figures on a Beach - No Stars
The Wild Swans - Young Manhood
Ice-T - Somebody Gotta Do It (Pimpin' Ain't Easy!) [Remix]
The Ramones - I Wanna Live
The Replacements - Can't Hardly Wait
Throwing Muses - A Feeling
Aztec Camera - How Men Are
The Casual Gods - Cherokee Chief
Erasure - Hideaway [Little Louie Vega Mix]
