Throws two or three guitars into the crowd--check.
Attacks ABC cameraman with guitar--check.
Has roadie pour gasoline on amps and sets amps on fire--check.
Amps explode--check
After fire has been put out throws amps into crowd--check.
Exits festival via helicopter as soon as set is finished to avoid police and fire marshalls--check.
On a side note the line up for this included The Eagles (with Jackson Browne filling in for Don Felder), Earth, Wind, and Fire, Rare Earth, Seals and Crofts, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and headliners Emerson, Lake, and Palmer. You can't get anymore 1970s California than that.

I saw these two in 1998 with Dream Theater opening.

Jim Dandy was one of those classic themes of the era

You're right. I was trying to go by memory from listening to one of the 36 From the Vault podcasts where they talked about this since they were doing #24 which was from 1974.

Amazing performance. I've just never been a fan of the burn, trash, tear up the equipment move.
