Definitely one of the weirdest mofos in music history..but also one of the greatest

Golden Years
Width of a Circle
Moonage Daydream
Speed of Life

from pop psychedelia to hard rock to disco to experimental early electronica... Bowie was truly a musical chameleon

station to station

probably my favorite bowie track, as well as one of the greatest 10 minute plus songs ever

Bowie claimed that his diet for a year was nothing but coke and milk

L.A. almost killed him. He saved his life and career going to Berlin (Low, is still one of the great albums of all time, by any artist).

Side A is fricking awesome.

Side B, not so much. I'm all for ambient music, as long as it actually goes somewhere. I feel the Eno-heavy songs on side b just meander before ending.

I think The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars takes the title

Anyone listen to his new album? If so, thoughts? I listened once thus far on Spotify. Sounded pretty good, but hard to tell after just one listen.

I haven't listened to it, but I hope he tours heavily. He is someone I need to see. Legend.

I think he's retired from touring. Then again he was also retired from music and came back to that so who knows. I wouldn't expect him to do many shows, if any.

Yeah. I am sure he will play the major cities like LA, NYC, London, etc..

I just hope for Atlanta, Houston, or obviously New Orleans. He played here in 2003 or 2004

Yeah I remember when he played the Saenger. One of my friends saw him with NIN in the mid 90s. I'm kinda jealous.

Bowie's album ranked worst to best by stereogum

Published today. I certainly don't have all Bowie's albums, but I would pretty much agree with the top, although I would put Station to Station over Low. And maybe Hunky Dory over Low (those are very close)
