Not sure if this is the correct place to ask, and, yes, I have a subscription to Apple Music or whatever to have downloaded these mp4 things.

I want to put them on a CD and have them play in a certain order. I’m told they need to be converted to mp3’s

Question: what the best way to convert downloaded mp4s from Apple Music to mp3s?

Thank you and sorry I’m old and am in the wrong place.

If you have Windows Media Player, you should be able to import them into it. It usually asks if you would like to convert to MP3.

Also, how many songs are you talking about? If you just want a CD with 10-12 songs, you should be able to burn an audio CD straight from iTunes. It will do the formatting for you and won't lose as much fidelity.

I believe itunes format is m4a, mp4 is video. You can google some converter programs. I've done it before.

iTunes can covert .m4a to .wav or .mp3. And yes, iTunes uses .m4a files. .mp4 is video.

Online Video converter

I use this pretty often at work for videos but it does audio as well. I've never done bulk files though so I'm not sure how long it would take.

Used various sites and that is the best one I've seen.

As someone else said though MP4 is video - so make sure you're not trying to convert MP4s to MP3s

ETA: Might want to RA and have moved to tech board. They are sometimes knowledgeable lol

freemake video converter used to be my go to, but that was back when it was actually free. it still is, but it's slower than the paid version. you just need to match the bitrate as close as possible
