Any other NE Florida MBers heading that way???

ETA: Still jealous though that I can't see them at The Varsity Friday night.

The Varsity show currently has a low ticket warning. I'm really looking forward to it. Great lineup all around.

No kidding. Definitely will be catching both The Obsessed and Devin Townsend Project. I'm trying to convince a buddy of mine over there to go to it. Looked online earlier and was surprised to see there are still tickets left. Glad to hear they're getting low. A packed house will be a great atmosphere that they'll love. Has Clutch ever even played BR before? I moved away in '90.

This show tonight should be sweet. The Backyard Stage at the Amphitheatre. A friend told me that they use the main stage but only sell limited number of tickets, all for standing only, which is what I like anyway. Crowd might be situated back around the backside of the main stage. Not sure about that part but there will be food trucks and beer tents. Sounds cool as hell.

They opened for Marilyn Manson at The Varsity in 1995 I believe. Somewhere around that time anyway. They have never headlined here. The show will sell out for sure with walk ups the day of the show.

Hard to believe Devin Townsend is a backup for this show, but if you haven’t seen him, make sure you get there early. One of the most prolific musicians on the planet.

What are the chances this thing gets cancelled due to fricked up weather? I'll be pissed if that happens.

DTP are a bunch of middle-class white Canadians. They should feel right at home.

Man this show was fricking incredible!! Y'all are in for a treat! I couldn't have been happier with the setlist we got. I was a bit nervous since it changes from night to night and there are a few songs from Earth Rocker that I would much prefer to not take up space over other songs. Only got two from that one, including one of my favorites in The Face. Early on we got Immortal, Gravel Road, and even Passive Restraints. Hell yes!!! The best part was that Electric Worry and X-Ray Visions were the last songs before the encore, when they've been the encore most nights of this leg so far. The encores were Big News I and The House That Peterbilt. Simply awesome!!!

This was only my third time seeing them but I do have to say it was my favorite of the three. Man they were tight as hell and they just jammed the hell out of the crowd and the surrounding woods. Neil was in prime form.

Including a few videos from the show:

Immortal
Gravel Road
The Regulator
Escape From The Prison Planet Video kinda sucks on this one but sound not bad

Hope The Varsity show is phenomenal for y'all. I have no doubt it will be.

Yeah I can see the talent. He was a bit strange for me though. One Oedipus joke was one too many. Three were overkill. fricking weirdo Canadian. Again, I do see the talent, but the actual music isn't what I would call my favorite style either. I enjoyed The Obsessed much more.

Socially awkward for sure. He admits it. And admits his way of dealing with it is awkward gross humor.

But musically he is genuinely brilliant. Has made a billion albums. Writes VERY quickly. Often works on 2-4 albums at a time. Every genre too.

His album “Ghost” is an ambient album. Almost Enya-like. Freaking beautiful album from a metal guy.

Well that’s fine then. If it’s his social awkwardness I can overlook it I suppose. LOL. I definitely appreciate his talent.

“Ghost” sounds like something I might dig. Will have to check it out.

I don't know why anyone would expect this to be cancelled

I don't know your experience but I've had at least 3 concerts I can think of where weather conditions prevented the band from being able to make it to the venue.

I've been thinking they may have gotten there 36 hours or so ago to beat the weather. Played Pensacola two nights ago but no show last night.

DAMMIT I wish I was there tonight!!!

All the bands are from up north. I'm sure a couple inches of snow isn't a big deal to them.

Oh for sure it isn’t. I figured they might consider the possibilty that three inches of snow could throw a deep south city into complete gridlock.
