Cheating the f chord

Been playing a couple of years now. Pretty decent with angood ear, but I have arthritis in my left hand that makes the f chord and other bar chords difficult. Any good pickers here continue to improve without a proper f?

You can cheat it......go watch bob Dylan's "with god on our side" . Nbut t hat chord formation is pretty important as you move it down the fret board. And the. Ther is the Bm form that moves down the fret board.

This is how I play it on some songs. Works just fine.

Can you fret the root note with your thumb?

all you really need is the 1-3-5. you get 3 F's in the full bar chord, so you can lose two and still keep the sound. you have two C's so you can lose one. the only note you cant frick around with is the 3. so we'll just remove the top and bottom F, and lose one of the C's. move it down a string.
might be easier to play..

not F major, so not an alternative to a bar chord.
