Anybody know of these cats? Any big fans? They play them and mention them 5 times an hour on Sirus/XM 60. Even gave the fellers their own show a coupld months ago. Apparently they are a huge deal in the Americana type music scene. Or at least Outlaw country thinks they are. Their music is not bad for a couple of old dudes. I am just suprised they are so popular when I've never even heard of them until 6-8 months ago.

Or maybe I live under a rock

I like Buddy Miller a lot. He has several solo albums out, and also some duet albums with his wife, Julie Miller. Buddy also was the guitarist for EmmyLou Harris for several years.
Lauderdale is a great songwriter, but his voice is somewhat of an acquired taste. He and a group called Donna the Buffalo made
a great album years ago.
I know that Miller and lauderdale just did a duet album, but I haven't had a chance to hear it yet. Hope this helps.

Thanks plawmac . They are good musicians, but they must have caught the owner of Sirus fricking a goat. They are pimping the shite out of them..

Buddy Miller is awesome.

He plays on and produces a lot of the legit records that come out of Nashville. He's worked with Kasey Chambers and Emmy Lou Harris...He plays lead guitar for Patty Griffin I think on the road. He's kind of the Peter Buck of Alt Country.

His album with his wife (Julie) is to this day one of my all time favorites.

I am much more familiar with Lauderdale as a writer than as a recording artist.

His credits include Gonna Get A Life (Mark Chesnutt), You Don't Seem to Miss me (Patty Loveless/Georgia Jones), and a ton of George Strait songs - King of Broken Hearts, Where the Sidewalk Ends, Twang, Do the Right Thing, etc.

I love Jim Lauderdale. His bluegrass music is some of my favorite, he also has some country albums I believe. I think I found him on pandora. I had no idea other people knew who he was, I don't have satellite radio. Bluegrass is my favorite album.
