The guy that did Hungry Eyes?

My all time favorite. So many great songs besides the rock radio singles.

Oh, cool. That one’s a big hit at the dentist office.

If it’s not your thing, avoid their 1st four albums. ‘A Farewell To Kings,’ ‘Hemispheres,’ ‘Permanent Waves,’ ‘Moving Pictures,’ ‘Signals,’ has very little to none of his high pitch vocals. Much more subdued vocalizing. Those are all classic, amazing records with dazzling musicianship.

As a Canadian it may be blasphemous to say that i have never been a big rush fan ... there ok but I nvr saw them live, lots of friends did, just not for me. Listened to a podcast w lifeson and chris schiflit and it was interesting to listen to 2 guitar geeks

Well when you have a top 10 lead guitar player, and a top 5 bass player and the goat drummer you will be a huge success .

I think rush is corny
maybe its just because they inspired so many corny bands
but i also think led zeppelin is corny

Probably won't be a popular opinion, but I liked Rush mainly for the writing. It was different, like somebody else said " Dungeons and Dragons type stuff", but a little deeper, with brilliant musical and story telling mechanisms. Fantastic musicians, but for the most part, they probably would've benefitted from a better lead singer.
Steve Perry could have been perfect.

That has always been an unfair label for them. They didn’t really have a lot of songs like that.
Now to call it Dungeons and Dragons type music because the people listening to it are probably sitting around playing that is probably a fair assessment unfortunately.
I love Rush, but their hardcore fans are cringe on another level. The last doc they made focused on the fans and it was pretty embarrassing.

Yeah, you're spot on. I just didn't know a better way to describe it, without doing a ton of typing, because I really don't like to type much.

Greatest band in the galaxy.
Even better live.
From Farewell to Kings through Signals is an incredible run. Their last album Clockwork Angels is a grand finale masterpiece.

Couldn't stand them for a long time. I just couldn't get past the high pitched singing. I've grown to appreciate them more in my old age.
It's definitely an acquired taste. Incredible musicianship.
But his voice is divisive. And it's only gotten weaker as he's grown older.
