Board Consensus on easiest DAW to use nowdays for someone who isn't great with computers?

Would be for a regular HP computer with i7 processor, 8gb RAM 512k memory. I can increase the RAM if needed.
Most of the recording will be acoustic with some electric stuff here and there.
Not many effects at all. Not making records, just song demos. Would prefer something that is free if possible.

Since you're using a PC, I recommend Mixcraft. It's basically Garageband for PC. You can demo it for free.

ETA: Your current PC specs are more than enough to handle it.

Reaper has a free version and is used by a lot of people as their DAW of preference. I think this program runs the most efficiently of all DAWs so you may be able to get more tracks/effects before the hiccups.

Edit: they used to have a free version but now you have to pay $60. Should be worth it though.
