Highly recommend watching this. What a jam packed yet short lived career Blind Melon had as a band. Too bad Hoon went balls deep on the white.

Got this DVD back in 2003 while in high school. I find myself still watching every now and again. One of my favorite bands. Vastly underrated
Edit: A guy that works for my old man saw them in Houston once. I remember him saying it was a hell of a show. He claimed to have spoken with a few guys from the band after and Hoon walked up and asked about coke. Said he walked off after he didn't tell him what he wanted to hear. Not sure if I believe it or not but there it is.

I was too young to see them before Shannon died. That said, I have seen them with Travis a couple of times. I was actually at the little acoustic show/CD release they did at Wherehouse Music for For My Friends. It was a cool show and very sentimental. Travis put the mic down and turned Change into a sing-along. Tears were shed.

Nice. Yea I was in high school when he died, so didn't get to catch them in their prime either. All night bender on his tour bus dud him in.
Anyway, the documentary is cool as hell, lots of good concert footage.

I had tickets to see them when he died. That's about as close to just missing them as you can get. I also saw them as the opening act for Neil Young before No Rain was a single... I had no idea who they were, and we missed the first half of their set because we were more interested in procuring the proper chemicals for the Neil Young show.
I regret that decision. Not the chemicals, just that it took so damn long.

I saw them in Starkville in '07 and '08, with Tavis Warren obviously. Don't remember much from the first show but met them all after the scond. They were signing posters and just hanging around with the common folk. Really nice guys. I was surprised when I realized that Christopher Thorn is about 5' tall

I saw them live twice. Once the night before woodstock 94 at the stone pony in asbury park. They played for over two hours and it was the first time i heard a lot of the songs that would end up on soup. Amazing show. The second time i saw them was a few months before he died, also on the jersey shore. Everyone i went to the show with had a shitty time (outside factors, not the music) but i had a great show and even had a moment during the show where shannon and I connected. Ill never forget that moment as long as i live. By far the saddest ive ever been by the passing of someone i didnt know personally. My friend was a student at tulane when shannon died, he tried to convince me to drive down for the show from nj and i seriously considered it. I still have the ticket stub to this day.

Saw them at the varsity around 94 ish. Very good. They took the jam out more live. (like you'd expect I guess) i still listen to them a good bit. A very underrated band in my opinion.
PS. All I knew about them is that they had a corny video on MTV and my buddy's girlfriend that sang a little in the bars loved them and convinced us to go

Too young here too, but agree that they are very underrated. Always was curious what their path could have been... Sad story.

I saw them opening for Lenny Kravitz in 1993 at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in the Woodlands, north of Houston. Outstanding show.
I went there mainly to see them, didn't even really care much about what Kravitz played afterwards. Hoon was pretty fricked up, though. Kept going on about how beautiful the sky was in-between songs, like he was talking to himself.

I was at the variety show they played back when the new singer had just joined up.
So much fun. You can tell they love their music. Hell I love the ripped away version of no rain and they walked out to that.
