39 years ago it was Blackfoot, Billy Thorpe & Johnny Van Zant at a small concert venue called Royal Rouge Hotel & Casino. The concert took place in the old Independence Hall behind the State Capitol. This was a rocking arse show, loud as hell in a small venue. Blackfoot's Marauder Tour.........

I see that part is torn off the stub, but shows were running about $8-10 back then.

Same tour in July they played an outdoor concert here and I got to meet them cause we set up the stage and stocked their trailer w/refreshments. Remember how down-to-earth they were, particularly Jackson Spires the now deceased drummer. Good times....

Nice!! I don’t recall even hearing about that one. Luckily I did get to see them at the Texas Club about five years later. I like the full show lineup you saw more though.

My CSB from that show. I was up front right in front of Rattlesnake Ricky Medlocke. He had a cold Budweiser in his hand at one point and took a drink from it, then handed it to me. Of course I pounded it.

After the show I was able to meet the whole band over to the right of the stage where they had come out to mingle, and they all signed the label on the bottle. Had to stick the bottle in my pants to leave the building with it.

That had to be early on in their career. Man I spent many a night head banging at Papa Joe's!

I like them. They were another band that was never afraid to sport the Rebel Flag on stage.

Papa Joe's closed long before 1995, at least the original location on Fla Blvd. Was there another one?

OK, yes I do remember a 2nd version of Papa Joe's now. It was in an old grocery store with a low ceiling. Kinda around were Tin Roof Brewery is located. I think I went to that show also. Pretty sure I saw Foghat there too. Good memory.

Most bands and venues have some kinda history link. They are informative but typically are never complete. Pretty amazing however and really cool to check out.

Check this one out. It’s pretty damn accurate and goes way back too. I’ll occasionally search for a show on a date way back and it won’t be there but this is by far the most thorough listing I’ve ever seen. And the good news is it’s actually meant for setlists. Now not every show has a setlist included but I consider the ones that do to be a bonus.
