Billy Strings---So Much for Goodbyes

Haven't seen much discussion here after it hit the market.
After a couple of listens all the way through I am of the opinion that it might be his best work yet. It definitely has a lot of old-school bluegrass roots in it and the depth of the songwriting is great.
Oddly, the first song I heard off of it a couple months ago was Burn the Other End, it didn't really do anything for me, and I was hoping the rest of the album would not sound like that song. I still don't really care for the song (I think it's the weird time change/lyrics going into the chorus), but the rest of the album is a home run.
Saw an interview with him from ACL behind the scenes and he said he is "practicing guitar" for an hour a day now learning music theory and new playing styles. That should translate into some interesting stuff going forward.
Thoughts?

I like it, as you said his songwriting is superior to all but the very cream of the crop and that’s why he’s been so successful
As a collection of songs I like the last album better, personal preference

I haven’t listened to it yet besides 10,000 miles because he’s played it live several times prior to the album release.
Billy Strings is legit as hell and the songwriting just adds to his originality that has gone extinct with modern music.

Yes. Latest album seems back to bluegrass but those songs has some really good lyrics that I looking forward to seeing live. He such a authentic and refreshing entertainer that happens to play the guitar like no other.
