Sure hadn't and judging from his rhymes that were posted in this thread, I haven't been missing much.

Maybe it is because I was around more of the northern rap, which had more intricate lyrics and storytelling, but Lil Wayne is nothing more than a song that seems like he writes separate bars and then jams them together. It is a completely disjunctive rhyme scheme, and makes a listener who focuses more on listening to the lyrical aspect turned off. Lil Wayne is some riding in the car, windows down music. I listen to the Big L's, the Big Pun's, the Cormega's and Atmosphere's because of how they are able to formulate plotlines. Of course, there are better storytellers (Slick Rick, BIG, Scarface) but for punchlines, those are some great ones. It's just my opinion, but in general, artists like Weezy, Kanye (after his first two albums) and the Hip-Pop artists have made me hate all new rap, so maybe it is my blind disdain.
