Best place to sell a guitar?

I have a guitar that was given to me by a friend, and honestly it's really not my style or something I could really see myself wanting to keep long term so I'd like to sell it if I can. It's an epiphone Sheraton II semi hollow body. Nice guitar just the semi hollow is not my style. Where have you had success selling guitars in the past?

You could always try Craigslist first. Doesn't cost and the $65 (or so) you save on shipping/insuring might make a difference.

I avoid selling on eBay. Outside of their insane fees, too many flakes, deadbeat bidders and scammers. A common ploy lately is shady buyers receiving a used piece, challenging the described condition of a used piece and trying to negotiate a partial refund, while holding good or bad feedback as the hostage based on the seller's willingness to or unwillingness to bend and threaten to get the eBay police involved if you don't comply. Just not worth the hassle to me.
I sell on Reverb.com. Classified ads, not an auction site. Lower fees. Objective third-party monitors of Q&A/dialogue between potential buyers and sellers. Real-time tracking of the transaction, which is also monitored third-party.
CL is a good option if you use common sense carrying through with the transaction. Meet in a public place. Carry a friend (witness), carry a counterfeit bill pen. Stuff like that.
Also, so, so important ... TAKE GOOD PICTURES and give a thorough, accurate description whichever route you choose. If you want top dollar for your guitar, make a top dollar presentation.

absolutely. thanks for the response. looking on the guitar center site this thing sells for 599 brand new, eBay and other used sites show used for 425 and up. i would be happy with 350 tbh, i don't have any money in it, as it was a gift to me that wasn't ever played very much.

Asking prices, new or used, are not a reliable market gauge. Particularly with Epiphone electrics - there is a robust supply of used and NOS examples of every model they offer on the market at any given time.
For real-time current street value, search "completed listings" on eBay. On Reverb.com, you can access their site's price guide when you register as a user, and it will show you recent transaction results/history on their site by model. This will help you set a realistic asking price if you're serious about selling the instrument and within a reasonable time frame.

I recently sold a Les Paul through Facebook Marketplace. You have the usual flakes and shite there too though. No shipping!
