The Woodstock original soundtrack has to be included in this discussion :

With a Little Help From My Friends - Joe Cocker
Soul Sacrifice - Santana
Dance to the Music/Hey Music Lover/Higher - Sly & the Family Stone (one of the all time great live performances)

ABB - Fillmore East
J. Geils Band - Full House
Wishbone Ash - Live Dates
Personal favorite: Rory Gallagher Live (Europe '72)
The Who - Live At Leeds

Those are all excellent-
The Who- Live at the Isle of Wight may be one of the best shows recorded on video, to go along with Live at Leeds.
Speaking of Isle of Wight, back in the 70's there was a 3 album set called Live at the Isle of Wight and Atlanta Pop Festival- Great performances from Hendrix, Mountain, Cactus, Ten Years After, Allman Bros., Sly & the Family Stone, etc. that is fantastic.

Best Live Album title:

Rush "Different Stages"

Get it? get it? Play on words, a bit.

It's solid though.

This is such a good live performance of a great song. I think I like it better than the recorded version.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Wilco's Kicking Television. It is probably my favorite live album front to back.

I'll also include Stand in the Fire by Warren Zevon (brilliant version of Excitable Boy).
