Always liked his band, they were tight and had a distinctive sound. They definitely jammed, but you had to pay attention.

Well said. His bottom songs on most of his albums were great. NEVER got AIR PLAY. But THOSE usually are the best anyway!!!

TONS of FAVS by Elton. But IMO his BEST work is Funeral For A Friend. HAUNTING is all I can say.

Its fantastic and the transition into Love Lies Bleeding is simply amazing.

And you are right, he has a lot of great tracks that weren't hits a great song we haven't mentioned from GBYBR, is I've Seen that Movie Too.

And we've gone far to long in this thread without praising Bernie Taupin
