They were at their best early on. I always liked this
quote:

To Love Somebody
And this is the best version

New York Mining Disaster 1941, Holiday, Massachusetts, and To Love Somebody are all top shelf.

I love tragedy.

It makes me very sad that Barry does not have any of his brothers around anymore. Underrated band and they were great producers too.

Shortly before they left Australia for the UK the Bee Gees wrote and sang backup on this single. I don't know if they officially produced it.

Ronnie Burns - "Exit Stage Right" (1967)

Probably the rockin'est track they ever appeared on

None of them were old when they died. Andy was 30. Maurice was 53 and Robin was 62. That's not old either. It's sad. I saw an interview with Barry after Robin died and he seemed overwhelmed that he was the only one left.

Spicks and Specks
To Love Somebody

I like the pre-disco Bee Gees. I never knew that they had a big career before disco and put out some great stuff.

I completely understand that a lot of people like to suck off their early stuff. However, they released some GREAT songs during the disco era. I think that this period of their work is sometimes discounted because of the musical environment in which it was created.

I could listen to "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart" every day.

Well stated. Stayin' Alive is a classic.

Jive Talkin', How Deep is Your Love, More than a Woman are all solid. Defined a generation.

My favorite Bee Gee material was during their transition stage from like 72-75 when they were blending folk, country and disco.

Run To Me (live)
Come On Over
Love So Right
Nights On Broadway (Midnight Special)
