Anyone going to Ben Folds tomorrow? I got free tickets so I am going. I wanted to go anyway but had forgotten all about it until I got the email offering tickets. Losing money in the casino finally paid off.
I really only know his Rockin The Suburns stuff so I need to listen up tonight. Found his set list online so I can try and know more of the songs.

I take it the show finally sold out? I was considering grabbing a pair for my wife.

I wouldn't consider myself a huge Ben Folds fan, but I like his stuff. I saw him live once and it was a fantastic show. Highly recommend.

Considering they were giving away tickets yesterday, I would assume you can still buy tickets. I don't even gamble that much in any given month so if they offered them to me then there had to be a few left.

Great show, but a few songs got cut due to time. Stupid casino shows
He's a funny dude and damn he's a good songwriter!

Loved the show but yes, clearly cut out some songs. This is the 2nd concert I have been to at L'Auberge and the first time around I blamed Wynona for not wanting to be there and cutting out so much of her stuff. Turns out it wasn't her fault, the fricking casino cuts them off. Why are they so strict on the time? They clearly had a 10 pm cut off. He was still awesome and really funny.

I'm glad you got to see him play. He's truly an entertainer. And a fantastic piano player.
Only seen him once and I'm waiting for him to come out to California so I can see him again.

You wanna talk short shows? Opener Sarah Jarosz -- that's two-time Grammy Award-winning mandolin-wizard Sarah Jarosz -- got to play, what, four or five songs?
Downside first: our *paid* seats in Section A row 25 had zero, I mean ZERO view of the stage. We did have a nice HD TV monitor in front of us (grumble). Fool me once, but never again in that place.
Upside: Jarosz did a meet-and-greet at the merch table after her set; had a pleasant chat with her. Found out she has cousins here in BR. Gotta lobby to get her back to play a real venue or listening room.

Our seats were on the very end and we also could not see anything. We asked to be moved and they moved up to the center but at the back. I didn't mind one bit, we could see. You should have spoken up. They moved us and we had free tickets.

What a great performance by Ben. Time constraints from the casino were total amateur hour IMO. Shame Ben had to cut some songs.
The opener who won 2 Grammys got a 22 minute set.
I will say that I was pleasantly surprised that the place was pretty packed out last night. The age demographic was all over the place. 20 years old to 70.
Watching Ben play was amazing to watch in person. He is a master at his craft. The ending with the woman singing was awesome and she got a standing ovation.

Does anyone know why the casino has such strict limits on the concerts ending at a certain time (must be 10 pm)? I know they want people gambling but wouldn't people be just as likely to go gamble after the concert no matter what? I just can't imagine someone going "well, if this concert had ended at 10 instead of 10:30 then I would gamble but since it is 10:30 I am just going to go home."
