Lol the beastie boys have been and always will be the highest form of chad rap.
You're so cool dropping Chad in your post. A real golden nugget moment. But Eminem is the artist you meant to refer to.

I love Paul's Boutique.
Check out paulsboutique.info -- tons of great information about the lyrics on the album. Well worth a read.

I wish KEXP would have remembered to include Looking Down The Barrel Of A Gun.
There are no samples in that song.
All instruments are played live by the boys. The only thing sampled is the drum beat and I think it's interpolated.

A copyright lawyer estimated in 2011 they would've had to pay $20 million in copyright fees to make the album.
It's why the sound will never be recreated. There were layers upon layers in the sampling. The greatest of all time from a brief moment in time, before lawyers ruined everything.

Amazing, ground breaking album.
Greatest album of samples of all time.
Probably not even in my top 20 of all time hip hop albums.
Also not my favorite beasties album.

Erm...
Drum and guitar chord after "getting paid, getting rich" - "Mississippi Queen" by Mountain
Drum beat is from "Put Your Hand in the Hand" by Ocean
Main beat is "Last Bongo In Belgium" by Michael Viner's Incredible Bongo Band
Piano chord played in background throughout is from Pink Floyd's "Time," from the "Dark Side of the Moon" album.

its all interpolated by the beasties on live instruments, not sampled.

I'm also hearing some of Edward Van Halen in there, though I can't figure out the exact song.
