Alanis Morissette

You Oughta Know came out like a sledgehammer and she never even came close to it again. Uninvited is a distant second place.

Alanis and her record company pulled the biggest okie doke in music history. Have a female pop star release an edgy, sexy, rock song right at the height of the grunge scene, then never approach it again. I swear she had a five year career off of one song.

When it was recorded, it included 50% of the (at the time) members of the RHCP - Flea and Navarro.

I Missed Again was the first single from Face Value.

I always hear that as a reworked version of Genesis' "No Reply at All". Maybe it was the horns?

"Your Love" was their second single. "Say It Isn't So" was the first from Play Deep.

The Killers - Mr. Brightside

Somebody Told Me was their debut single, and I’d argue that song is better than Mr Brightside

I can't speak for the guy who posted that but I see that meme (and use it) as one of two things

1. Hmm, somebody else thinks what I was thinking, cool.

or

2. Really? I forgot about that but now that I think about it, that is absolutely true.

So that GIF is always a good my man, just the pathway there may vary.
