Chef,
Sweet Potato
Kerosene Hat (1993) Lyrics -
Be my sweet potato
Be my honey lamb
dance around the campfire
hang around a while
Well, I been caught stealin'
someone else's vibe,
everybody loves or hates us,
but we're still alive
CHORUS:
Well wake up in the morning
cup of coffee, grab your bags
jump into the caddie
'cause this tourin' ain't a drag.
They say overrated, educated
I suppose a little jaded.
When I get off this
I think I'm gonna have to be sedated.
So be my sweet potato,
I'll be your honey lamb,
give me some black tupelo,
I been caught again. shite!
I went to New York City,
but then I come right back,
everyone was cool there,
I couldn't get no slack
You seen me in the papers,
You seen me in the Voice,
I think I'd stay in Dixie,
if I had the choice.

There's just that one assclown with Tony Soprano as his avatar who can't write three posts on this board without one of them reminding everybody that he would in fact fellate every living Beatle.
As for the Allman brothers argument, I've seen them mentioned on here more than a few times.
Bands/groups that I think are noteworthy and rarely, if ever, discussed here:
Damien Jurado
Horse Feathers
Brand New
As Tall As Lions
Citizen Cope
Minus the Bear
Tycho
emancipator
Augustana
Current Swell
Margot and the Nuclear So & So's
Portugal. The Man
A Perfect Circle
I have VERY eclectic tastes in music.

The Ravonettes. No idea why they are only played on Underground Garage. I like pretty much everything I hear from them.

I like the Ravonettes as well, but we're talking about a band that intentionally recorded an entire album in B-flat minor and only use three chords on every song. I'm not surprised a sound that is that harsh hasn't caught on with everybody.
Also, they got unfairly lumped in with the Garage Rock revival and when that flamed out, they were kind of passed over in the US.
