Bob Dylan.
His music sounds great when covered by other artists but his voice

I was like that at first but then the voice grew on me. Actually, it's the voice that really delivers the lyrics. Only Bob Dylan could deliver Blood on the Tracks. You can hear the pain in his voice.

Many songwriters share this same trait. Their voices just aren't strong and pure enough to make them attractive on the stage. They write great stuff though, and sometimes their songs sound best when they sing them. Can you hear anyone but Dylan singing Subterranean Homesick Blues ?

Rush.
I realize they're talented musicians, but I loathe their music with a passion. Although, I sort of smiled during their RR Hall of Fame set.

The Band. To a degree. Several songs I love, some do absolutely nothing for me. And to add to it, I have heard many covers of The Bands orginal work that was much better than their own.

yep. Noodling bands like phish and Umphrees, while on an insane talent level, don't do it for me. I mean their dynamics and musicianship is fantastic and extremely good, I'm just not into 15 minute jams.

Tool.
Just kidding, I don't appreciate them on any level.
