Their precursor Free is more criminally unknown now.

Burning Sky

A great "cruising with your buds" song back in the 70s.

Highly underrated in my book.
I think part of it was their own fault, because IMHO opinion,on their albums, about 1/2 of the songs jut seemed thrown together, and could have been much better, but the other 1/2 were really great.

As Roger mentioned, Burnin Sky is one of my all time favorite songs. Period.

It's like Hendrix and Bo Diddly doing the sound track to Cool Hand Luke.

One of The best shows I ever went to was Thin Lizzy,Eddie Money and Bad Company, back in the late 70s.

I think they get what they deserve. They are well liked and deservedly so.

But their songs are pretty much power chords and good lead vocals. They don’t show much creativity or musicianship.

That’s not meant as a knock. I like them a lot.

That album is hands down my favorite Bad Company album. As someone else said, many of their albums were half great/half filler. I didn't think that about Burnin' Sky. Heartbeat, Man Needs Woman, Leavin' You--those are some great songs.

I saw Bad Company last year sharing the bill with Joe Walsh. Great concert, even though Mick Ralphs had to sit it out after having a stroke. Few singers from that era have held up as well physically and vocally as Rodgers has.

Yeah, but it's good, fun rock n roll. There's a time and place for technically perfect pieces, but if you just wanna get your groove on, there's good stuff for that as well. Sometimes you just wanna feel it.

Bad Company’s problem is they sound too much like Foreigner to not be confused with that over-played suckage.

It's Free and Paul that really inspired Ronnie Van Zant. Rodgers is a fantastic vocalist and BadCo were rolling in the 70's.

Little known fact about Bad Company: Their record label was Swan Song, owned by Led Zeppelin.

I liked Bad Company way back when.
A few weeks ago I watched a Soundstage show which they were featured. I had forgotten how many hits they had. Just one after another. I hadn't enjoyed a show like that in a long time. Had Bad Company songs in my head for a week after.
