There is a BBATS (New Orleans Audiophile Club) gathering this upcoming Thursday evening. The guy hosting this time has a boutique system--amps and pre are made by Doshi Audio, and Daedalus speakers.

Hit me up if you are interested in checking it out (it is pretty informal)--probably about 20-25 people will show up.

I usually host the one that is the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Alrighty my fellow audiophile Freinds--if you want an LP to show off just how good vinyl can sound, this is the one. It is a female vocalist doing jazzy renditions, both acoustically and with full rock (liberally used term here) band, of 10 or so cuts from the mighty Led Zepplin.

I first heard about it when it was written up in Stereophile magazine a couple months ago in their "recommended listening" section. It since was used by a large number of high-end audio gear manufacturers at the most recent show out in Newport Beach, CA as a reference recording to show off their über gear. It has all the attributes of a master audiophile recording--superb engineering, acoustic bass, dead quiet backgrounds, a female vocalist with a wide vocal range, and great music.

It is a 45rpm and 3-LPs...so it will run you about $65 or so, and it is a limited production run (5000 I believe).

So if it at all interests you, get it while it lasts.
