Man, I gotta score this, I'm a huge Doors guy.

After a month or so of breaking her in, I cannot begin to say how impressed I am with this pre-amp. Built in DAC, MM and MC phono stages, 5 analog inputs, 3 digital inputs, balanced inputs and outputs, balanced sub output, and more. This baby sounds glorious! Hard to beat at this price range I'm sure...

Playing 45's tonight!...
I have my dad's massive 45 rpm collection at my place now. There are thousands dating from 1955 to 1985.
So...here is my dad's pre-computer logging system...
...they are all in chronological order with the date being when they peak charted on Billboard. If you look at the picture below, you can see how in the upper left corner of the record sleeve he would write the month & year, name of the song, artist, peak position, and a dot or asterisk if it hit #1, and in some cases, how many weeks at that position. He would also re-draw, when a sleeve would lend itself to such artwork, the logo of the record company that the record was on (see pic below for example).
He did this on just about every one of the 4000+ 45rpm's--lots of time and effort, but it helped when flipping through a box of 45's.
He also had a 3"x5" index card with every one (they were all typed) as a way of finding a song. It was alphabetical. You would look up the song you wanted to hear in the index card file (12" long steel index card cases)--it would have the month and year, artist, and a letter and number as to where to find it (what shelf # and what bin #). It was the only way to find a record with so many.
He later made an electronic database and spreadsheet when Windows '95 came out.
Needless to say, they are all pristine.
Here are a few examples from 1978...

Glad to see you are really diggin the new pre amp!
Since it is such a new model, I have yet to hear it. I will say though, with all the features, inputs, outputs, sub options, phono stages (2), DAC, and balanced ins and outs, to name just a few, that Parasound pre amp may just be a giant killer! It already seems to be a fantastic bang for the buck.

Some goodies that came in this month still in heavy rotation or ones I just wanted to show off (Star Wars Vinyl)
A GOAT of all time cover and jazz record. Marc Moulin was light years ahead of his time. Hip hop listeners will hear samples aplenty.
Not as legendary as the record above but still a great record. Also would like to point out these are 180 gram represses.
I bought this pic disc for aesthetics alone. These soundtrack cuts are alright but pretty meh when you compare them to the older OST anthems.
STill one of my favorite records of the past 5 years. These guys are fusing multiple genres at an extremely high level. Their soundscapes are amazing.

Jealous, all I was handed down from my Dad was a propensity for substance abuse, and a genetically suspect heart lol, kinda.
Anywho, if you enjoy out there jazzy stuff I highly recommend both of these albums.

Also I have R-S300, not the R-S201

I'm a new vinyl convert. What's the best resource for determining which pressings are legit and which are substandard? I've had a couple rough trial and error lessons with Weezer - Pinkerton and Amy Winehouse - Back to Black.
Obligatory: Listening to Mott The Hoople - The Hoople (original press)

I was looking at that one. Probably the best option. The R-S201 should be perfectly fine, right? Should I be running a sub?
