The RT-85 is $499 and is the best bang for your buck without getting into serious audiophile territory. The ortofon blue cartridge that comes with it is $200+ on its own.

Get a fluance RT-85 and I’m sure someone makes a preamp with BT capability.

I would have probably bought one of these already if I knew enough about all that stuff.

So you get a preamp that can transmit a BT signal to speakers or headphones?

Can I listen to Bluetooth and the wired speakers at the same time? That’s how the current set up is. Music is currently playing inside and outside.

Playing some Alex Chilton rt now.

Here’s a nice Bluetooth preamp like was mentioned above. You could just buy one of these and be completely unrestricted on your choice of turntable. Probably the smartest option imo.

We got any serious audiophiles in this thread? I've got about 20k worth of old audiophile equipment sitting in my garage. Ton of old tube amps, magnepans, acoustats, and martin logan speakers. Trying to debate whether I should keep a pair of martin logan CLS IIs or magnepan MG3s before I sell everything.

eta: I see Marco is still posting

Why is it sitting in your garage? Are you listening to something else or just ran out of room for the big planar speakers?

I bought it a few months ago. It's really nice and is now my primary turntable.

Yea, Marco.

I went minimalist with an NAD Master Series M33 and Dynaudio Special Forty speakers. Just a U Turn turntable.

Tom Scholz recorded everything but the drums and vocals by himself with a bunch of equipment he invented. All done in his basement……

You can only tell by listening and deciding for yourself. Not sure of your location, but storing audio equipment in un-conditioned environment isn't recommended .

Someone died and the family didn't want any of it. Going to keep a pair of magnepans and CLSiis and sell the rest. If anyone is looking for any high end gear, let me know.

Picked up a mcintosh 7200 and a mcintosh Mx-113 for my new system. Haven't hooked up my vinyl player in a couple years so pretty pumped

Bought both for $2,600 total.

Beautiful set up

Quick question for you guys: same guy I bought the mcintosh gear from has about 3,000 jazz/blues vinyls and CDs that were from an estate. Vinyls are all from the 70s and are in mint condition. He wants $2k for the vinyls (about 1300 vinyls) and $3k for the vinyls/CDs.

Worth it to just pick up the vinyls? Or do the CDs have value too? I was thinking of picking it up, keeping the vinyls I want, and selling the rest.

That appears to be a great deal. Do you plan on any sources other than vinyl and the tuner? Personally, I'm 100% digital between a CD transport and a streamer/server. Streaming as really made it easy for the whole family to enjoy and use my system.

I still buy used CDs.

As for buying the lot of records and CDs, if there are 400-500 titles you like, or want to give an old album a first listen, do it.

You may need more than 200w/ch if you plan on keeping older Magnepan or Martin-Logan CLS and want to play them to their full potential—they drink power!

Really dig this record. Grabbed this and steel wheels a couple of weeks ago when Sound Of vinyl was running that sale.
