Those Legacy reissues are well done. My “Band of Gypsys” is pretty mind-blowing. Gonna check this one out.

I had forgotten what a genius rock record this is. Still remember how game changing it was when I was college and it was released.

Looking at having to finally replace my Kenwood amp from the 80s and my old Infinity studio monitors finally .
looking to buy an integrated amp or amp and pre-amp and some new speakers
give me suggestions for around $3000 for both and $5000 for both
I don't need a lot of frills like bluetooth and all that, just good clean power. I also don't need a turntable I have a good pro-ject table. 95% of the time I will be playing vinyl, the rest of the time CD.
so far, considering Mcintosh or Marantz (I would like a Mcintosh, but that would push my budget over what I want to spend and I think I might be able to find a good amp for less)
and for speakers B&W or KEF
looking for suggestions
mostly listen to classic rock, metal, thrash, punk, hardcore

A few I'd take a look at with built in phono preamps (mostly moving magnet):
Musical Fidelity M6i - $3000, has MM/MC phono stage, MF is known for very good phono preamps.
NAD C 399 - nCore Class D amp modules, ~$2200 new
Rotel RA-1592MKII - $3400 but can be found for less
Edit: This is a good deal on a refurb MF M6i: $2200 Hifi Heaven. 220 WPC, no digital extras and might be exactly what you want.

SO many more speaker choices. Are you looking for tower/floorstanders, bookshelf, or what? What are you coming from? B&W & KEF are certainly strong brands. Revel, Elac, Monitor Audio, Paradigm, GoldenEar, Klipsch, SVS... there are many good options.

Crutchfield has what looks like an incredible deal on the the Focal Aria 936 at $1300 each in one finish. Nominal retail is $3k each.
Edit: The other 936s are also on "special purchase" at $1800/each, so that one finish for some reason is very steeply discounted. If you don't hate it, that with the M6i above would be incredibly hard to beat at under $5k for the pairing.

Got a question for you guys…
Is this turntable decent. It works but but I’m getting some serious ground noise/high pitch whine or something when I have some PA speakers connected to my receiver preouts. When the PA Speakers are not powered on the main speakers sound fine.

Don't get too caught up in WPC. Speakers you need to listen to if at all possible.

WPC can also be very secondary to the "sensitivity" rating for a speaker. Basically it means how loud the speaker will play with a 1 watt input. 3 dB represents a doubling of power. Most typical speakers will be about 87-92 dB, which means that a speaker with a sensitivity of 92 dB (like the Aria 936 above) would easily be powered and play louder by 100 wpc compared to one at 87.
As far as auditioning, while it can definitely be useful to do in store if you have access to a good selection to narrow things down, it may be better to do the final pick with a home trial and a good return policy. Stores are usually going to have a different sounding room than your home environment, which affects the sound more than any gear, especially in the bass.
