Love that and other early Charlie Hunter records.
Late listening tonight, this sounds fantastic and I have a lot of Lee Morgan but this was new to me:
Edit: Have to also mention, Bennie Maupin is very underrated as a saxophonist.

If you can find a clean copy of this at a decent price, then scoop it up. Absolutely destroys my 2015 Optimal pressing.

It's a wolf in sheep's clothing. It looks basically like every SL-1200 made since the 70s, but it's been extensively re-engineered. And it's such a joy to operate, fits my needs a lot easier than the VPI. The VPI is a fantastic table in its own right but just physically tougher to deal with due to a few factors. The 1200G will be the last table I own unless I win the lottery!

Just picked up a copy of the Lenny White/Venusian Summer record. It’s a fantastic listen. Thanks for the suggestion.

This starts out very bluesy/funky then gets pretty intense. Really liking it, LP sounds very very good too.

Yeah boy! Glad you dig it as well. I’ve listened to more his stuff. Very very interesting artist.

BTW, I have to give a raspberry to Dusty Groove for used LPs. I took a chance on a used copy of a Machito LP, marked as VG. Received it today and holy crap, I must have a different understanding of what that means. Cover is beat up and barely holding together with major cracks along every edge. The record itself is clearly scuffed and scratched on both sides. For $15, I feel ripped off. Last time I buy anything used from DG which is sad b/c otherwise they have an amazing store with tons of cool stuff. I looked around and saw similar comments elsewhere so this isn't just a fluke, apparently.

Damn, good to know. Sounds like they sent you a fair condition record/sleeve and graded it VG.
I’m assuming the return policy on used product is nonexistent?

Yep. They have an "all sales final" return policy in general, and the only potential exclusion is for a completely misrepresented album i.e. a version with different tracks.
TBH, it's not really just DG. With the vinyl resurgence in the last decade the whole market shifted in such a way that incentivizes overstating used record condition. Talked with a friend about it and we agreed that in general unless it's Mint from a reputable seller, this is now an eyes/hands on only type transaction. Lesson learned, fairly cheaply at least.
