I've been listening to his entire catalog on spotify today while working. I bought the one that you have (after listening to it a week or so ago, and the one that i spun last night.) I'll be picking up the 2 albums that were released in between as well, but there's not a lot of press about the guy, but i did manage to find an interview after just a quick look.
This guy, is a lot like Glenn Danzig, in that he has fully realized his vision, which is a beautiful thing to see.
oracolo is a bit more sparse, not quite as adventurous, but akin to a reverb/echoplex drenched trip-hop version of the black pumas, if they had more of a pacific coast vibe, the next, is the most pop-structured of the 4 but definitely not pop, the third is the most chill (think the description above, but add in a helping of slowdive's pygmalion album,) and the newest one has a lot more afro-carribean influences, with more lush instrumentation on each album. You did a good thing putting this dude on my radar.
edit: shite there is another album that i missed that came out prior to oracolo, the roots of his vision were apparent but it's not as strong, songs not as fully evolved and the production quality not as effective in my opinion.

I checked out Oracolo at work last night through one Air Pod, I’ll probably be ordering that one next. I’m really digging the new one, I’ve spun it at least 5 times so far. The Afro-Caribbean drums/percussion really sucked me in.

Breath of fresh air here... good old fashioned Rock ‘N Roll, I highly recommend this album.
Hear a little Zeppelin influence on some songs, but not a complete rip-off like that other band mentioned here sometimes.
Porno Wolves “Renegades”, 2017
Nothing but electric guitar, bass, drums, & vocals...

Hitting y’all with a 2 for 1 tonight, thank me later.
Again, nothing groundbreaking, but rock music in 2020, w/ guitar solos and all...
Freeways “True Bearings”, 2020

It’s a good album and it’s always fun to stumble upon some fresh new music. I know I’ve discovered things here from you guys as well...

Took 45acp’s advice and joined VMP. Not disappointed.

I got my uturn orbit plus and klipsch r51pm powered speakers in and hooked up today. Nothing compared to some of yalls setups but Im excited. I've been listening to nothing but portable bluetooth speakers for years, so its a big arse upgrade for me

Don't be afraid to follow the BVSC rabbit hole. Almost all of the subsequent associated releases/solo albums, etc. are at worst enjoyable and at best absolutely fantastic. That album, and it's sister project Afro-Cuban All-Stars were monumental in opening my eyes to the world of music out there.

I got that one too. Everyone is saying it's a fantastic sounding pressing, but I haven't listened yet.
As for VMP, I've enjoyed it, but with the considerable price hike, I will not be reupping when my current plan ends at the end of the year. There is just not a value there anymore. Hell, with the new sub price I could now buy a MoFi or Analogue Productions release every month and it be cheaper. Not sure why they're trying to end themselves

I heard that after some research as well. I think I will be let my 3-month membership run out, depending on what the next two ROTMs are. There is some stuff they have I really wanna swap for. Once I have everything I want I will probably cancel.

2010/11 Music on Vinyl 2Lp press
Guys, this pressing really booms. If you can find the MOVLP100 or MOVLP471 version I say scoop it up. Can't speak to the 2013 pressings since I haven't heard them.

Requesting some help with buying advice for my system. I have newly acquired monitor audio silver 300’s and 100’s (best speakers I’ve owned). They are hooked to a Denon AVR 1906, a unit I’ve had for 15 years for a surround system. The room is a tv/family room, 21x17 with 19’ ceilings, walls opened to other rooms and all hard surfaces. Kids just left the nest so I’ve a few extra dollars and time to enjoy the music. The wife and I would rather listen to music than movies, but having good sounding movies would be nice occasionally. Having read the last 20 and the first 50 pages of this thread makes me nostalgic for a decent system with the goal of adding a turntable in the near future. My next purchase would probably be an amplifier/pre amp or AVR. Wife wants to stream music. In reading about room correction, I see Anthem and NAD are good among others. My budget for the streaming device, amps/avr is 3-4K and <1k for a table. Thoughts? Thanks
