What did you think of the show? Thinking of taking my 12 year old (and fairly good guitar player) later this summer.

The Nickelback of their generation. You can take that as a positive or a negative, but I feel it's pretty accurate.

They’re way more mainstream than Nikelback ever was

I think they are terrible, but they really have that cheesy ESPN highlight reel music down. Every song is made for some bro to workout out to. WHATEVER IT TAKES!!!!
I could see a 12 year old enjoying the show. They are energetic. Ask him if he likes the band first lol

I hate every band that lets the singer beat on a drum for no reason.

I've notified social services about this.

I'm sure he'll love it, although I've never seen them live I can't imagine they'd be terrible. Some of their songs I actually like. (Friction and Radioactive)
I think they just go so popular and mainstream that it became cool to hate them besides them being rather generic pop rock

Don’t do that to your 12 year old. That’s the equivalent of getting him a hard part and making him do ‘kids crossfit’

Believe me, my son loves all music (except the scourge that is country), I’ve made sure of that, and is quite a talented little guitar player (and percussionist) for his age. He understands quality at 12 - which is quite a feat really. I don’t have a problem with him watching something fun at times too though. I just wanted to see if it was worth the 4-5 hour drive and a day or two off work - from folks who have actually seen a show - and they are fairly tame and clean too.

If you have even a casual appreciation for music that doesn't suck arse you'll hate it. The 12 year old will probably love it.

Saw them about 9 years ago in DC in a 200 person-room. They were openers and showed up the headliners, I can tell you that.

Is there a reason you are looking at them over the hundreds of non-country tours likely closer than 5 hours away?
Is he a big fan or?
