He is playing tomorrow in San Antone at the Tobin. I want to go but I’ll probably be going solo. I saw him about 10 years ago when I was in high school but I want to see him one last time… he is about to retire in a couple months.
Is it worth going? Does he still have it? And is it worth going solo?

We just had a thread about him playing the house of blues in Nola Tuesday night. Good show, no frills

Go catch him one last time. Only exception is he does the show seated...still played 20+ songs and the band sounded great.

He's gotten progressively more sedate over the lat 10-15 years. I think he's mostly playing now for diehard superfans who have aged alongside him.

Saw him at Tips a few years ago and it was boring AF honestly. But I’m also not really a fan and just went because my friends wanted to go.

Saw him here in KC few months ago. Still pusts on a great show, still has the voice. He sat on a stool most of the show.

Saw him in Oxford, MS, back in June. He sat for the whole show, but still told his funny jokes and gave a great performance. Go, you won’t regret it.

If you’re not really a fan I can see why it wouldn’t be that enjoyable.
I had the time of my life and he didn’t even play his most famous song. I knew most the songs he played and it was absolutely killer. So glad I went. I think I’m gonna shell out the money to see him at floores…
