His cd Broken Arrow with The Charlie Mars Band was pretty much the soundtrack to 2 years of my college experience. He played a bunch of fraternity parties in the late 90s around the South. Very unique voice and his song "Barfly" still moves me even after all these years. I wonder how if anybody has seen or heard him the last decade or so--I'm pretty sure he still plays.

Love that album. Love all the early stuff. He's still making music. Was dating that chick from Weeds.

Heard he plays all the old stuff in very slow tempo now live and it's just not the same.

"Silver Buttons" and "Black Dress" were the songs of my latter 90s.

Partied with him a few times in Starkville after shows at late night get togethers at somebody's house or apt. He was an alright dude to party with but his music was a little too cheesey for me. He was popular with the sorority chicks that came from the private academies in MS. That wasn't a bad thing for a 20-something at the time, but he is no Monte Montgomery or anything.

Broken Arrow as an awesome album. Reminds me of late high school/early college. Saw his band in 99 or 2000 at the Varsity. Good times....

Was a mainstay in Hattiesburg when I was at USM during the late '90s.

Love the Broken Arrow CD...and Barfly was a favorite as well. Saw him back in 2001 at the Varsity.

He kind of re-made himself in 2004 with his self-titled release which was really well produced. (Silver Buttons was re-done and they had a bunch of good tracks on that record)

Didn't think he was playing much of his older stuff at shows anymore, but I hadn't seen him in years (think it was a Tip's show)

And now I'm breaking out that album
