Any of y'all fans of street musicians?

Don't see them much in my town (Birmingham), but when the wife and I go on vacation, we really enjoy them. This guy is one of my favorites. Great musician, and he's probably making a lot of people's day brighter by hearing him.

I can tolerate street musicians moreso than guys (or girls) with acoustic guitars in a restaurant.....

I think street musicians are great. I have a lot of friends who are or were street musicians.
One of my old friends and my favorite street musician is Uncle Ray Solo who performed his one man band in Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco for many years. He literally blew the tourist's minds when he played two trumpets at one time.

For me it is just great to see someone that obviously has a passion for what they are doing. I would much rather see one of these good street performers than some big name act that no longer remembers the joy of just playing. Just my two cents.

My favorite was an old black man playing trumpet on the Riverwalk in Savannah, I was there with my elderly father who was wearing an Indiana Jones style hat and some safari looking clothes, being old and prepared to walk around Savannah in the heat all day. We simply walked by and he started playing the Indiana Jones theme and a hundred bystanders all laughed.

I had some friends in the Packway Handle Band (bluegrass band from Athens GA) who regularly busked when on tour. They'd get to the venue a couple hours before showtime, and would just set up on a corner with a jar and jam bluegrass for tips until showtime. Can't really do that as a rock band, but as a bluegrass band, it was common sense. You get to practice, warm up, and make some gas money for your next gig.

I am probably an outlier but I love listening to buskers doing just about anything. When we lived in Europe it was one of the best things about living in Europe...they were everywhere. Don't see it as much in the states outside of New Orleans, Austin and Nashville on a regular basis.
When I was kid in Atlanta a LOT of Piedmont Blues legends were still alive and many were either from Atlanta or were living in Atlanta. They were very common. Almost unheard of now to see any street performers in Atlanta.

It's magical moments by street musicians like this homeless man that make our daily lives a little less dreary.

I agree 100%. Wish we had more of it here in the USA. Tuba Skinny is a great act to catch when your in New Orleans.
