I mean I get what he's saying. They're gonna get some badass studio musicians on these promoted songs. But it really doesn't matter when the stuff is so generic and simple. Producing and mastering to get that perfect radio "sound" takes some engineering, but Christ, no way the talent is coming from those two posers.

The music/lyrics in verse 2 may be the worst thing that I've ever heard.

If done with actual care and talent, that can be decent. This is just horrible.

ETA: Having listened to it three times, the Luke Bryan verse at least vocally doesn't make me want to cut off my ears. Lyrics and music are terrible though.

And is that a homosexuality line in there?

It seems like every couple of weeks I hear about a new song and I say "that's the worst song ever". This is worse than "Boys Round Here" and that new Brantley Gilbert song.

My comment was directed towards...

they'll never receive respect from anyone who's involved in the musician community.

They do get respect. From fellow artists and musicians. If the musicians think their music is complete crap they should choose not to play on the records or in the live band.

I'm not defending or hating on FGL. They sell lots of records and lots of concert tickets. Whether or not I, or anyone on this board, like them is irrelevant.

I don't think I've seen someone take the stance of pro-nashville on here. You will get some bites.

I am Pro-Nashville. It is much more entertaining. At least I get a laugh out of it.

No, they don't. A studio musician is called in because they know how to make a song sound a certain way in the studio. It doesn't matter how little or how much respect they have for the artist, they come in to get the job done quickly and for money. Some bands already have people who can hold it down in the studio, some don't. I know plenty of great studio musicians who won't turn down cheesy pop songs that they hate because they're getting paid X amount of dollars.

I guess what I'm saying is, I'd have played piano and B3 on (lets say) FGL song "cruise" if it meant it could boost my resume for future studio work, and 15k. It wouldn't change my opinion of their music.
