For all you metal heads, does it get any better than Maiden. They have been my go to, favorite band for 35 years. Still to this day, the more I listen to them the more I appreciate what they have done over all these years. Just listened to Piece of Mind. Flawless. Revelations and Still Life never got their due! Just had to share my love for the greatest metal band of all time. Up the Irons!!!

I wholeheartedly agree. Bought Killers back in '81 when I saw the album cover in Hit Parader or Creem or Circus magazine. Been a fan ever since.

Awful stuff. I prefer more reflective, relatable music. Like Gordon Lightfoot.

A LONG TIME AGO, I wasn't a fan (I didn't dislike them tho) but I went to a concert in Memphis....headliner .38 Special, 2nd act out Point Blank......opener Iron Maiden on the 1st US tour (Number of the Beast).....been a fan ever since.

I’ve seen them 3 times over the years. Once in Nola, Houston, and Denver. You know what you are going to get and they never disappoint. Some bands can’t hold up live compared to the studio albums...definitely not the case with Maiden. Hoping to get the chance to see them one more time.

The quality dropped off big time after Powerslave.

Dude there is so much quality after Powerslave. The early albums are all brilliant and it’s justified that they get more publicity. But there’s tons of great music in the later catalogue. You do realize Seventh Son of a Seventh Son and Somewhere in Time came after Powerslave right? Granted there’s some less quality work in there, especially without Dickinson and Smith, but the later stuff is great as well.

I'm not one to chase a band around the country. Iron Maiden hasn't played New Orleans since the 80s. I've resigned myself to the fact I'll never see them.

I see you post in a lot of threads on the music board and we seem to have similar musical interests. If Maiden makes one more run do yourself a favor and make a trip. They usually play Texas which isn’t a bad trip. It’s well worth your time and money.

If there's one band I would travel for it would be Maiden. I might go to Houston to see them under the right conditions. I never saw Pantera or Sabbath either so I can get over not seeing a legend.

I saw Sabbath at the Woodlands about 5 or 6 years ago, so I was able to check that off the list. The only time I saw Pantera was in late 80’s early 90’s, can’t really remember. They opened for Skid Row in Nola on New Years Eve. They weren’t even very popular yet. The one regret I have is I never got to see Dio.

I saw him at Hob in Nola. 1997 Magika tour. It was fricking awesome.

I loved going there in the 90s because you were damn near 10ft from the performers. Type O Negative was another great concert I saw there.

There were maybe 125 people at the Varsity that night as the little man kicked arse. I stood front row the whole concert as it’s a show I’ll never forget
