I love the fact the biggest band on 4AD is the Pixies, who really aren't like any other band on the label.

particularly at the time they were signed.
lots of one hit wonders like the breeders and of course early on they had Bauhaus.
i'd argue Cocteau Twins is a much better band than Pixies..no idea saleswise which was 'bigger'.

Breeders are far more of a one hit wonder. Pod and Last Splash are both classics.
