Sadly, the anniversary of Lennon’s death always reminds me about Dime. Sad day for music.

I was a little young for Lennon's murder to have much of an impression on me. I can tell you exactly where I was when I heard about Dime's death.

Dime is not just a metal legend, he is the pre eminent guitarist of the 90s. No one even comes close to his skill and influence from that era in metal, hard rock, or really any sort of guitar based music.

Absolutely. Terrible day. Lennon’s murder hit me hard and one of the first things I thought about when Dimebag was shot was how crazy it was that it was the same day. Like Lennon, Dime had SO much more incredible music left to play.
Think about the insanity of it. Two music legends not just dying on the same day of the year, but both gunned down. It’s fricking nuts.
