how is van halen not on this list? the band's inner turmoil has completely overridden the music they created.

they're on the fringe, but they got back on track with their latest album...if they called it a day tomorrow, it's not a bad album to go out on IMO.

The Beatles went out the best way possible. Although Let It Be was released last, I count Abbey Road as their real ender because it was the last thing they recorded together. And that album may be the greatest of all time.

They got on the list not long after Hagar joined, but that's due just as much to Hagar's insipid lyrics as to Eddie losing it with cocaine and alcohol. I just listened to some tracks off F.U.C.K. to refresh myself with how horrible it was and now I need to dig out some Diver Down to clear my mind. Oh my god, Eddie Van Halen reduced to using a power drill as a gimmick.......

Skynyrd and ZZ Top, as others have mentioned, both belong on that list. One's nothing but a lousy cover band and the other one is trying to stay hip by re-interpreting awful rap songs.

That's a pretty good list, honestly. I do agree with those that say Queen didn't really hurt their legacy by touring with Paul Rodgers nearly 20 years after Mercury's death. That falls in the "one time thing" exception, and no one thinks of it as Queen. I don't even really like Queen, but I have a hard time giving them any guff for this.

Black Flag's entry was dead on except that it insinuates there are two equal sides. There isn't. Greg Ginn is an a-hole who is suing just about everything. The guys in FLAG probably shouldn't be playing hardcore in their 50s, but they actually still put on a solid show and they aren't exactly sullying the band's name. And Keith Morris releases his new material with his other band, OFF!

Bands to add: Skynyrd. Jefferson Airplane and that whole Starship debacle. The Eagles being the greediest frickers to ever walk the earth. Whatever the hell Elvis Costello is doing (easy listening, mainly), and how he won't recognize the Attractions. CCR hasn't really sullied their legacy, but it's a shame how it ended and they can't let bygones be bygones. The Dead Kennedys nonstop legal war with each other is just sad, though Biafra was always a jerk.

I mean...who could ever really replace Freddie Mercury? At least Adam Lambert fits more of Freddie's flamboyant image.

Creed's little bitch

I'm surprised they aren't on there. They were on top of the world in 1999-2000 but after Scott Stapp just completely ruined the band's reputation they disbanded as well as Brian Marshall having some problems. I guess cause their recent album wasn't bad. Musicianship is top notch since the breakup.
