shouldn't they have to prove themselves a bit more to be the pinnacle of that list?

I don't know if that list is the pinnacle.

What more would you want to see them prove?

Seriously

Tell me when you hear a 13min song on rock hits radio.

I'm not even sure why you're posting this stuff. I never contemplated why Rosetta Stoned isn't played on the radio...I just said I am thankful it isn't.

Confusing posts are confusing.

rosetta stoned sucks, and everything after lateralus sounds like they threw in the towel.

and anyway, you're not as big of a tool fan as you lead on b/c you think a cover song is their best song.

As big or bigger than all other Tool fans on here. Yeah, that's right. Plus, I think Rosetta is their best song to date, not No Quarter.

However, their version of No Quarter is completely Tool through and through. FAR better than the original song and the original is a classic.

But keep on telling me how shitty I am...this is fun.

QOTSA are a lot more popular than most of the bands on that list. What more do they need to prove?

eh, not really a fan of that song, or that album as a whole.

their best songs were written 20 years ago.

I'm not a fan of the 10,000 Days album as a whole compared to previous albums. Personally, my favorite is Opiate due to the raw, still figuring shite out, energy.

"Get that Bob Marley wannabe mutherfricker outta here!"

2nd favorite Tool album is Aenima.

However, if I was to choose a song that perfectly sums up their sound and career to this point in time, that song is Rosetta Stoned.

after seeing tool 5 times and QOTSA once, i'd go see QOTSA again before I saw tool. tool are great live, but QOTSA blew my face off.

I've seen tool twice, QOTSA once, and The Sword four times.

I'd see QOTSA and The Sword again tonight if I could. Tool, meh. They were good live, but it just didn't do it for me.

The Sword melted my face off each show. They are fantastic live.

QOTSA was great as well.

Really? I never listen to them but Pepper is a sick guitarist.

He's a mediocre guitarist. Down is one band that the sum of the band is greater than its parts. I love Down though. That first album was fantastic. And Queens of the Stongeage is a decent band but doesnt belong on that list. Hell alot of those bands on that list dont belong. Tool is very unique and their musicianship is off the charts. Lamb of God is the same.

I agree...at least they don't belong on that list at this time. That may change in the future considering they release more high quality stuff...

QOTSA are in an uptick, while tool is in tDecline. QOTSA's last album is excellent, while tool's last album is so sanctimonious they put two half-arse songs that your supposed to combine and listen to at the same time. frick you, tool. just give me the song so i can listen to it. actually, don't, because you gave up after laturalus.

That's your opinion. That's not their best song. There are 3 other songs on that album that are better.
