His ideas are fine, his issue was really sloppy execution.

The premise of BvS was solid....the details of getting there were just dumb. The fight itself was also good

This. I think Snyder suffers from "How cool would it be if..." syndrome. Basic ideas are solid that just need some tweaking to be very good.

As Fewer Kilometers mentioned. Pa Kent in MOS, The BvS fight(Superman not explaining himself before fighting), WW destroying the building to kill one guy in Justice League, etc. He just does a big thing that goes against ingrained character traits and it leaves a bad taste when it otherwise could have been very good.

BvS has some really great stuff in it. Snyder struggles with pacing and adding unnecessary shite. He also goes overboard with CGI. I love MOS, but the CGI gets a bit much in the 3rd act.

The over use of slow motion is maddening.

This is a really cool interview with Josh Horowitz for the 10 year anniversary where he goes into a lot of the criticisms of his work there if anyone is interested

I give his stuff a shot simply because the Watchmen is arguably my all time favorite super hero movie despite the change to the ending. But I got 30 minutes into Rebel Moon and I have no desire to ever see anything else he does. Had to be the worst 30 minutes of film (if you can call it that) I had watched in a long long time. Right up until I watched Gladiator 2.

That means you didn't watch Megalopolis.

I only saw the first one and it was freaking awful. I never bothered with the sequel

His directors cut of Justice League was lightyears better than the theatrical release.

Same with BvS. The Ultimate Edition was a solid film. Better than most of the marvel trash. But that theatrical cut was embarrassingly bad.
