A few off the top of my head (some mentioned already):

Guns N Roses - November Rain
Bob Dylan - Hurricane
Manfred Mann - Blinded By the Light
Green Day - Homecoming
Green Day - Jesus of Suburbia
Zepp - Stairway to Heaven
Skynyrd - Freebird
Frampton - Do You Feel Like I Do
Derek and the Dominoes - Layla
Metallica - One
The Who - We Won't Get Fooled Again
CCR - Heard It Through the Grapevine

Dream Theater - Octavarium (24:00)
Most Opeth songs... they average around 10 minutes.
Progressive Metal/Rock in general.
The majority of classical/romantic music is lengthy. I'd say that I don't often find shorter songs that memorable. There are of course examples of songs that are concise but pack a heavy punch.

I was pretty much going to write this, almost verbatim. I would consider changing the Dream Theater song, but there are so many great ones that were long as frick.

Between the Buried & Me - Ants of the Sky
Opeth - The Night and the Silent Water

I've seen both of those bands live, and they both only fit in about 5 or 6 songs into an hour long set.

Sweet. I'm a huge fan of BtBaM's song "Selkies: The Endless Obsession" especially when they break into that more "melodic" section in the second half.

As for Opeth I like their Patterns In The Ivy acoustic pieces. To Bid You Farewell is also a cool piece. Haven't heard much else besides material from Morningrise and Blackwater Park.

Have we really gone three pages and not had Layla mentioned? (Unless it was a video link I didn't click). 7+ minutes and two of the best guitarists ever in Clapton and Duane Allman.

Metallica's One is one of my favs and checks in at 7:22. Foreplay/Longtime by Boston is over 7 as well.

You should check out their latest album Watershed. It was my favorite album of 2008. The acoustic intro to the album is amazing LINK

At least that's a bit more tolerable than "Less Than You Think".

Less Than You Think is a complete waste, but I love Spiders (Kidsmoke). Awesome groove.

For whatever reason, I just keep waiting for the rockin' part of the song to kick in.

I just can't get into A Ghost Is Born - I even sold the vinyl edition I had.

Luckily, when they played two nights at Tipitina's in 2008, they didn't play much from that record.

AGiB is my second favorite Wilco album after YHF.

I would have liked to have caught one of those shows, but Built to Spill played the same night at the Howlin Wolf, so I went to that.

Wilco always comes back to New Orleans no matter what.
