#AnakinWasRight
Jedi council were so stuck in procedure and standing that they lost the Jedi way. Anakin brought balance to the force by mostly wiping them out, leaving only the purest idea of a Jedi remaining, and eventually wiping out Palpatine (til ROS fricked that all up), creating a true balance to the force by leaving behind only a small remnant of Jedi and Sith alike. In Anakin’s lifetime, both the Jedi were at the height of their powers and the Sith was at the height of its power - and he rendered both into near nothingness
frick I just realized that SW lore was completely fricked over by the decision to retcon Palpatine as the force behind all of the evil in the new trilogy. frick all those shitty arse directors and writers and producers and Kathleen Kennedy

I always had the impression that Palpatine had the ability to hide or cloak his powers. It's part of what made him so powerful.
Of course. They were all around him all the time. And it’s documented that force users can sense the force in others - midochlorian testing was just done to identify the level of force ability people had. They would have sensed Palpatine’s massive force presence if he couldn’t hide it

In the books, he could hide his power.
Jedi were fossilized. Yoda realizes it while fighting the Emperor in the book and that the Jedi were not capable of beating the Sith at the time.

Yoda was the Bill Clinton of the Stars Universe Everyone loved him, but, in hindsight, everything fell apart under his watch because he was a pacifist retard
Bill Clinton is no pacifist. He’s more like palpatine …or Hilary is.
Mace Windu was as much to blame on the council as anyone.

I really thought the new trilogy was going to address this, and have Luke being balance to the force in this way by incorporating emotion and some dark side ability into a new way of the force, bringing balance. The trailers hinted at that with “it’s time for the Jedi to end.” It seemed promising that he had learned from his experiences and would improve on the old Jedi ways. Instead of course we got The Last Jedi.
Luke got married to Mara Jade, had children, etc.
He made corrections to the course of the Jedi doctrine.
And Kathleen Kennedy and LucasArts rejected it all.

They were incredibly naive. They failed to sense anything in the force. Its odd that they are supposed to meditate on it, but really were only good at using it to fight. Yoda acts wise but I think even he realized he had become arrogant.
also watching Episode 1, they were so shitty to anakin. The kid had just been freed, and is standing in front of 12 people to decide if he going to be allowed to be trained (who knows what they would have done to him had he been not allowed to) and they berate him over being afraid and missing his mom. Like no shite, thats more than natural.

More so than this, Dooku was right. Anakin was still selfish and serving his own interests. The jedi failed him, but Obi won didnt imo. The jedi's failures didnt merit him slaughtering them or their children.
Dooku was right in that he left the order to do his own thing. Not sure how he ended up a sith, but I bet if Gin hadnt died he would have also left.
realllly out of all of them Asoka was right. She left and never waivered to the otherside. I like to think Gin would have also

More so about seeing themselves, not Palpatine.
He used them against themselves. Palpatine was a sith, he could hide it..but he was also a great politician. Which was probably more evil.

Totally agree. The prequels made the jedi look weak as hell. They were almost wiped out on Geonysis by a enemy that was high in numbers but not intelligence. Yet the Jedi rushed in like the union army.
The council never made the right descion. I also hate the retcon BS of there being dark energy under the jedi temple. So they couldn't sense the sith. They can sense the smallest hint of force in a kid from a distance.
That's not even the worst.
Count Dookoo is really the good guy of the ENTIRE story. He saw the corruption of the Republic and wanted a far more Democratic system. The Guilds of workers had equal seat with the member worlds in the confederacy.
They had their own senate and acted in the interest of the keeping goods flowing.
Sidious was pulling his strings but Dookoo didn't want to fly commit to the empire either. That's why he was killed.

Kilo's were called the Knights of Ren.
The biggest tease in the new trilogy. I remember all the cool promo art featuring them leading up to TFA and then nothing.

They were in the twilight of their era as been confirm by George Lucas.
You want to know how strong the Jedi was normally? Watch the Old Republic trailers.
LINK
The Jedi's use to wear armors. They had different disciplines. Double weilding or double edge light saber was use quite often. They were seperate from the Republic and field their own standing army as needed.
According to Lucas, after the final war between Sith vs Jedi 1000 years before The Prequel.
The Jedi willingly gave up their deadlier skills so that it fall out of use. The Jedi robes that you see a lot was them abandoning armor to appear more friendly, and that they themselves tied themselves to the Republic and answer when before they do what they want when they wanted.
So, yeah they got weaker because they kept sealing up deadly moves or knowledge over the years until what you have left was the bottom rung of a Jedi Order.
Pretty much the Jedi Order best in the Prequel would be Average soldiers during their Old Republic. Only a few exceptional people like Anikian and Yoda could be call excellent compared to the people back then.
The rest were pretty much disposable.
