I don’t even remember if I saw this one. I know I started it once but stopped after 10-15 minutes. I also recently watched Captain Marvel. My brain being loaded with 2 forgettable movies has confused things I guess. I think I did watch it again and finish it but am honestly not certain.

Captain Marvel was also not good...but mostly coherent.

Finally watched on Redbox today. I went in pretty open minded despite the reviews.

I didn’t see this in theaters which is saying a lot since I saw the first one almost 20 years ago opening day as a true nerd of the series. I’m nerd enough to admit that I have my name in the back of a Wolverine issue where you wrote to the editor.

It wasn’t awful but it sure wasn’t great. Sad to see the series that launched a multi billion dollar industry fizzle out on a meh. I liked it better than Apocalypse and felt it was little more fleshed out.

Why on earth did they take Evan Peters out for this? His character is obviously a fan favorite and they wrote him out of 90% of the film.

2 cis white male privilege notes:

Making Charles out to be an arrogant a-hole was virtue signaling of the highest order and really contrived.

Mystique’s “women are always saving men around here,” line and trying to create forced animosity was the most contrived ham-handed line I’ve seen in a long time. Bitch, everybody has saved everybody around here. Your arse was saved 2x in the last movies by men. The girl power scene in Endgame was noticeable but it didn’t bother me. After that, I wasn’t even sad when she died. At all.

Dude, it was one throw away line. It came and went with no follow up.

Charles has been an arrogant a-hole from almost the first issue of the comics.

Except for her being a dick to Charles until her death. Sure.

If you’re going to virtue signal and not follow up on it, why do it to begin with?
