I actually kinda liked The Langoliers. Not the execution of the movie itself, I guess...but the point of it. I thought the whole "I guess that's what happens to yesterday" premise was pretty cool, even if it looked cheesy and the acting was laughable

that's how I feel more-or-less.

If the effort to make the dark tower series is similar to that of Lord of the Rings, I think it can be really good, especially The Gunslinger.
But some of them might be hard to capture, like the Wastelands. whole book basically took place on a monorail car

uhhhh are you talking about the Langoliers? The Langoliers isn't close to 1000 pages. It's a novella.

umm. no. I was talking about It first then The Stand.

I think The Stand was pretty good. Especially the first part with everyone dying and the world going crazy.

Exactly why I agree with an HBO series. There's enough of a following on this to take the time and do it right. Not rush out something with the quality of The Shining tv remake.

As much as I disliked Langoliers, I 100% agree that TommyKnockers is the worst adaptation. I hated every second of it.

you talking the movie or book here?

also, not many SK movie remakes have been really good. This should be retitled which adaptation was the best. I still want to see The Mist, I really liked the short story.

As for the best, I need to mull...

The Stand as a novel was one of the greatest books I've ever read. I didn't think the miniseries was that bad. A lot of people hate on it, but really thought Gary Sinise and Jamey Sheridan nailed Stu Redman and Randall Flagg.

Considering it had Anthony Hopkins, Hearts in Atlantis was pretty bad.

I'm curious as to how the Gunslinger adaptations will work.
