Close. The answer has to be Rocky V! Unless people just wanna pretend this horrible movie never happened then it's at least the worst ending ever: Rocky ended the cold war at the end of IV and the whole franchise builds up to one last fight.... In the back-alley behind a bar!

"Return Of The Jedi". I always thought it was crap that Darth Vader would have a happy ghosty reunion as Anakin with ObiWan and Yoda, like nothing had ever happened.

The whole point of the Star Wars movies was that Anakin was the chosen one who would bring balance to the force. He did this in the end, so this made perfect sense to me.

Thats not even the worst part to me. Its a fricking Teddy Bear party, there were very few casualties, and Lucas decided to go on Planet Teddy Bear, than the Wookie planet. RotJ is one of the biggest missed opportunities in cinema history.

I agree...the cuteness of the ewoks has always bothered me. It was very unbelievable that a bunch of "teddy bears" would take out the empire's best army.

Teddy bears taking out the empire always pissed me off even though I still liked Jedi.

I doubt any other directer will ever make that mistake again...oh wait....

That entire movie sucked, not just the ending.

The ending was the best part of Rocky V. I mean the actual ending, when the credits role and you see all the shots from the previous movies.

LOTR 3's ending lasted 30 minutes longer than it needed to, so I'll go with that for wasting my time. The scene with the hobbits jumping on the bed was so hilariously homoerotic that my friends and I were in tears laughing at the theater

I definitely agree. But nobody said it had to be a good movie w/ a bad ending. And who better to have the worst ending than one of the worst movies ever that disgraced a glorious franchise?

I never had a problem with the ending to The Abyss. Except the obvious decompression issue. The extended version to The Abyss is much better.

Frankly, I am surprised with all the LOTR hate. Like someone said earlier, they were wrapping up 9 hours worth of movie.

Not only wrapping up 9 hours of movies but that is the way it was in the book. Actually the book was even longer as they removed the scouring of the shire from the movie.

Well, they really had to. That would have added on another 45 minutes.

I don't care. I would have actually preferred that they kept it in and showed the real way Sauraman met his demise.

Read the book (it's short, like 150 pages). Even though it is 50 years old, it blows the movie away.

The book is so much better. I am Legend has one of the worst endings. They changed the entire meaning of the title and the story itself by changing the ending. They should have changed the name of the movie

Million Dollar Baby pissed me off for having the most misleading marketing campaign of any movie int he history of movies. They made it look like a freaking female Rocky movie when in actuality it was a remake of Whose Life Is It Anyway.
