I think people associating dislike of Disney SW with something resembling Trump affection have disconnected from reality.
The rate of disapproval of Disney Star Wars is far more uniform than the approval for Donald Trump. Even given the shambolic nature of Joe Biden the approval rate for Donald Trump is only favorable by comparison.
Joe Biden (at least up against Donald Trump) would never sink to a 14% approval rating. Star Wars is now hated by the same geeks that used to be embarrassingly obsessed with the IP. These are not people into politics. They are just nerds who didn't want their nerdy obsessions destroyed.
