As Marvel Kills The Punisher, Longtime ‘Punisher’ Creator Chuck Dixon Announces ‘Black Warrant’ Series
Just for the record, that is not the same creator mentioned whining about Punisher being a conservative or whatever. I'm not sure if it's a typo or what, because he appears to be a writer of Punisher but not the creator.
According to the article, that 'Black Warrant' series is going to be part of a new comic universe being created as an alternative to Marvel and DC I think (assuming they are the "Big Two").
quote:
Dixon detailed, “It’s not exactly a secret that the Punisher is my favorite character to write. For whatever reason I have an affinity for the guy and the stories came easily. But, if we’re being honest, Frank Castle was never a good fit at Marvel Comics.”
“There were always restrictions when writing about him,” Dixon explained. “Editors waved me off for ‘going too far.’”
Well, he does not have to worry about the editors at Marvel anymore, “Now I’m working on Black Warrant which is in the same vigilante justice genre except the guardrails, training wheels and safety bumpers have been taken off.”
He added, “I’m allowed to take this genre in places it’s never been taken and having a blast doing it.”
quote:
Day went on to explain why he and Arkhaven decided to launch this new superhero universe, “The fact that the wheels have completely come off the Big Two and their impending mutual collapse means that the opportunity to provide a more traditional superhero universe was simply too good to pass up.”

I’m not saying Marvel won’t frick it up, but people have a bad habit of jumping to conclusions mid-story.
Like complaining about all of this and then finding out in the penultimate issue of the arc that it was Mephisto torturing him.
I’m not saying that is what will happen but best to let the arc conclude before deciding if it’s screwed up or not.
But… if it is then we can only hope the next writer fixes it, like how a new writer fixed Thor.

just wonder how Marvel is going to survive once they've finished destroying all the heroes that made them what they are.
They've done shite like this before. They just bring them back and reset the universe to the last most popular status quo. For them would probably be the 00s or the 90s.
DC has reset itself like 6 or more times in the last 20 years

That's why I liked old school 90s Valiant comics by Jim Shooter. Death meant something and if a character died they weren't coming back ever. I still have this comic where 2/3 of the protagonists supporting cast was violently killed

I'm just shocked no one has commented on how terrible the art is in that panel lol.

It also sounds like what she did in selling the safe houses and giving his half to charity was more of an illegal move on her part than some official court proceedings. Since she is dead, she would have no ability to do that. (And she mentions someone named Natasha helped her with it). The "wife" really comes across as the bad guy here.

some of the best artists were cancelled for being 80s and 90s democrats who are now considered 'conservatives.' see ethan van sciver as just one example

Soon they will just have AI write terrible stories along with generic AI art rendering.

Haven't checked out DC lately, but the art in Marvel comics has gotten so blurry and ink-heavy that I'm not sure anyone would know the difference
