I watched it yesterday and it was really really good. I'm not a fan of animated movies, but I was hooked on it from the get go.

I just watched this movie the other night while drunk and stoned, my god what a masterpiece. Take that with grain of salt

The animation and score are so top notch for an animated movie.

The whole “give me a boost” scene while Roz watches Brightbill take off for migration is incredible. Brought a tear to my eye.

The ending for me was a little predictable, that’s my only gripe, I had a hunch Roz would sacrifice herself for the island animals. But it was still a great film.

I hear there is a sequel in the works, will definitely take my kids to the theaters to the next one

I hate that twat Maren Morris but she made a couple good songs, the score is great overall though

I watched it last night with the wife and daughters.. My nine year old and my wife boohooed at the end. Those two cry over every damn movie we watch. My fifteen year old and I, the two Spocks of the family, were unmoved.

I have seen the previews and I find myself negatively impressed for a fairly modern reason. Because of where we are technologically today.

That is, because we are in the era of AI and other technologies replacing the utility of human intelligence and labor I don't get very warm and fuzzy about the notion of an artificial construct having emotional warmth.

This is different from what I would have been interested in a couple of decades ago. Movies like Wall-E, Iron Giant, and Blade Runner featured AI or alien beings I enjoyed and related to emotionally. But I hope that the AI glass half (or infinitely) full types are correct.

Robots/droids can invoke the same feelings we generally have toward animals in movies. They are innocent of whatever situation they are put into so we have empathy and compassion for them.

Think of the droids of Star Wars, people have unconditional love for many of them because they remind us of our pet dog.
