I haven't watched an award show in decades and I hope to keep that streak going until the day I die.

Why do so many TD's posters care about movie stars' politics? Why do posters think people on a Movie and TV board care about their politics, or the politics of movie stars. The craziest thing is it's the same people that quit watching the NFL because players were politicizing things. The same people that now hate ESPN for politicizing things are politicizing the M/TV Board.

The worst thing about the most recent Star Wars movie is the acceptance of people voicing their political views on this board. It's like all of the Fox TV guys from the OT, and the Politics boards came here to post about their displeasure in the Star Wars movie. and stayed.

They're not voicing their political views, they are voicing the political views of the movie.

All movies have a viewpoint...they just don't point the camera or create certain characters for no reason.

And when it's obvious like TLJ, it's fine to call a spade a spade...and call out Hollywood for the game they play...I mean, has Hollywood ever been shy about shoving their political agenda down our throats?

I don't think so. They are smug and absurd in their bubble and that is why most people don't watch their pat on the back shows anymore. You're actors, you weren't elected to Washington. STFU and just make an entertaining movie without all the political statements attached to it.

When I was a kid in the 80s and early 90s, it was a minor event to watch the Grammies and Oscars. Those were the only award shows anyone cared about.

Maybe they’re too political now. Maybe they still are widely popular, I have no idea about their ratings. Maybe there are too many award shows.

Or Maybe the magic is simply worn off as society evolves and moves on to other things—remember when beauty pageants were popular?

Because they are fricking sheep that buy into the marketing. Which is all award shows are. Marketing.
