Taking your mom out to see Logan at 10:15 in the morning is a wild move

At least you guys have a good option for theatres.

Here in Jackson, MS there is no AMC, and there is no beer/liquor/food option (popcorn and nachos don't count) at the movies. There is no fork/screen establishment here, which sucks arse. There is only a Malco, UA/Regal cinema in Flowood that is 30 years old and needs to be razed to the ground and rebuilt, and there is a Tinseltown in Pearl that was refurbished about 2 years ago. When I used to travel for work, I would love to go to Alamo Drafthouse type place.

It seems like I could be a millionaire if I opened one of those up around here.

I assure you Malcos are far superior to AMCs. Malco does the basics but don't frick over their consumers. I have no issue with going to Malco when I'm home.

And there's not one theater in Jackson that serves booze? Oxford has one, and it's a really good theater that is also run by Malco. It's no Alamo, but it's quality. Shocked they don't have one in the Madison area at least.

A Drafthouse would make bank in Madison. I also think they should put one in Midtown Memphis.

Agree totally about Malco vs. AMC.

I could be mistaken, but I don't think they serve alcohol unless I missed it.

It's crazy. At this point, I would take a place where you could order something to eat while you watched a movie.

ETA:
I typically go to Tinseltown and watch every movie in XD if I can because it's more expensive (which keeps out the riff raff) and the closest Jackson has to an IMAX.

I rarely go to the movies anymore unless it's a huge blockbuster because of the prices. Why pay $12 plus tax when I can get it for $1.25 at Redbox in three months. They are killing themselves just as Blockbuster did before them.
